Vanessa Rothe. In addition to her years of editorial, curatorial, and art dealing, Vanessa is a fine artist exhibiting the last 23 years alongside the Nations top artists in galleries, art clubs, as well as Museums. Rothe graduated with honors in Business and Marketing at USD, Honored in French Literature at UCI and has had classical fine art training at Laguna College of Art and Design with honors, deans list. She is an invited member of the UCI Golden Key National Honor Society. Rothe was a scholar-athlete at USD Division 1 volleyball and went on to play professional Volleyball in Switzerland where she also worked as a graphic designer for 6 years. Later she became Art Director at Walter Foster Publishing and Disney, and soon worked on the starting team of Plein Air and Fine Art Connoisseur magazine. She is an official by jury Artist Member of the famed Salmagundi Art Club New York, a Signature member of the American Impressionist Society and served as its Educational Advisor for 4 years.
After attending USD, UCI and Laguna College of Art and Design, Rothe launched her own art career in 2001 with three successful solo exhibitions at Wendt Gallery in Laguna Beach where she showed for 4 years alongside some of the nations top realist artists. Over the past 20 years she was honored to exhibit in many group shows including: Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction, Arcadia Contemporary, The Laguna Beach Art Museum, The Salmagundi Club in New York, the Annual American Impressionist Society Exhibitions, The California Museum of Fine Art, , Galerie Prince de L'Oeil Paris, France, Artists for a New Century at The Bennington Center for the Arts, Galerie DDG in Paris, France, and J. Willott Gallery palm desert. At the start of her art career she was named one of the "Artists for a New Century from the Bennington Center of the Arts. In 2010 she opened Vanessa Rothe Fine Art Gallery in Laguna Beach at 418 Ocean Ave in 2010, curating unique themed exhibitions and exhibiting her work alongside many of the top International artists in the world at venues from LA, to New York, to Paris.
Her works and gallery have been written up and appeared in American Art Collector magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur magazine, International Artist Magazine, Plein Air Magazine as well as Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest, Vogue, Riviera, Modern Luxury, Laguna Beach and Elevated Luxury Life magazines. She is a founder of the famed Paris Seminar with the 'Americans in Paris' Exhibitions, and Realism Without Borders art events and groups. Rothe was honored to write Editorial for Fine Art Connoisseur magazine for sixteen years and is now contributing editor writer for American Art Collector, American Fine Art Magazine and has her own bi monthly column " Art Industry Insider" in International Artist magazine. She has been invited to lecture on art history at important seminars such as TRAC art conferences and in Venice Italy at "The Alpine Fellowship" where she discussed current art and technology with some of the top writers, art historians and critics, painters and poets of today, including Ian McEwan, John Burnside, Odd Nerdrum and Roger Scruton.
