In addition to her life as a full time professional artist, Rothe is proud to be inventing and writing exciting Editorial content for American Art Collector, American Fine Art, and International Artist magazines as a contributing editor. Her monthly column Art Industry Insider can also be found in International Artist Magazine discussing various pertinent topics such as color, value, framing, marketing and how to sell your work without a gallery.
For 16 years Vanessa was honored to be the West Coast Editor of Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine and with it since its conception as well as for Plein Air magazine. She is proud to have help start and continue to bring innovative content and articles for Fine Art Connoisseur as an editor and writer as well as for Plein Air magazine since the early days in 2001. Over 70 articles in Print and online publications have been created and written by Rothe from fine art, to art history, techniques in art, travel, fashion and more.
Rothe is proud to be the Author, illustrator, and creator of the Art School Approach to Oils books with Still Life and Florals out in Barnes and Noble. The book includes an important fundamentals section and is translated into 3 languages.
Rothe is also available as a freelance creative writer and journalist with specialty in fine art, fashion and travel.

Written, designed and illustrated by Rothe in 2012, 10 years after working at the company and becoming a fine artist, Rothe invented her own how to paint book for beginners in Oil. ''An Art School Approach to Oils for Still Life and Florals'' by Vanessa Rothe which is published by Walter Foster has now been translated into 4 languages and can be found on Barnes and Noble, Amazon and often on EBay as well. This book is for beginning oil painting and contains a 15 page introduction on basic art school concepts and drawing first that one should be familar with before starting in oils. The book has been met with much success. |
