A New Year, A New Kind of Exhibition: Modern + Contemporary
For the first time ever, VRFA presents a curated collection of mixed modern and contemporary works rich with color, emotion and texture. Did you know that representational artists often create abstract works? Yes, even realist artists that have studied the figure and traditional fine arts for over twenty years, like to explore their creativity and work in other genres. Many of the works included are created by our existing award winning renown realist artists, as well as a few fresh faces already working in the genre of Modern and Contemporary.
VRFA is proud to offer this exhibition as an outlet for this stream of creativity, exploring shape, values, line, color and often creating works that are from their expressions and emotions not only their refined skills. The works in this collection range from purely abstract works inspired by Diebenkorn and the mid-century bay area artists, flowing watercolors, and to stunning pieces that combine abstraction with the artists existing representational skills. In this selection of new and unique works presented, we you to open your mind to appreciate what our artists can create when focus is expression, color and emotion.
In the exhibition below you will find not only the works with their titles and pricing indicated to the right of each work, but also sample interiors with suggested groupings of the works shown together. In addition you will notice our MODERN collection goes very well shown alongside works from our TRADITIONAL collection. We feel strongly, that with thoughtful curation, the two genres may exist side by side in either modern or traditional collection. Keep in mind that most of these works can be recreated any size you need by our fine artists, easy commissions available thru the gallery.
