Alexander Kremer was born on July 21, 1958 in Russia in a town called Repino, in the northern Gulf. Repino was the country home of one of Russia’s greatest artists, Ilya Repin. These Russian Landscapes, lakes and gulf have influenced Kremers works as well as the historical scens by Repin. He pays partiuclar attention to nature and the change in seasons, something always attractive to artists. Kremer's grandfather was a fine artist from St.Petersburg where Alexander soon went to school. Joining the other greats such as Alexander Lybumov and Nikolai Fechin. Kremer attended himslef the great Russian schools and Academies and has become an important artist in the contemporary Russian realist genre. In addition he was lucky to study directly with some of the schools historical masters as well as his grandfather. His work is reminiscent of the great artist of Russia's past and he continues the realist tradition today. It is said that he actually has one of Ilya Repins actual palettes and uses it to create his own works today. He is widely respected and his work has appeared in fine auctions thru the world in exhibitions from Tokyo to Paris.
